I’ve often wondered the stories that soldiers stationed in war-torn lands could collect, and what they do with them when they come home. I guess I don’t have to wonder anymore. The Americana alt-rock band THE J.O.B. will do it for me.

Spearheaded by former infantryman Jim O’Ferrell, THE J.O.B. is a music triumph. In the album ‘Back to the World’, a soldier’s coming home and his decision to tell stories through his music is both powerful and heart-wrenching. Now imagine that and add a whole lot of rock, and what you get is an amazing collection of tracks worth listening to.

THE J.O.B.’s Jim O’Ferrell was stationed in Baghdad, Iraq and even there, he managed to hone his guitar playing skills. He’s been doing gigs since he was 15, playing Johnny Cash covers and always playing in all the places the Army has sent him to. With guitarist Jason Crawford, they unleashed to the world THE J.O.B. Together with bassist Justin Poroszok and drummer Steve Payne, they become an awesome-sounding music unit.

With collective music influences such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Gordon Lightfoot, Grand Funk Railroad, Johnny Cash, Dennis DiBlasio Quartet, Merzbow, Iannis Xenakis, and Brian Eno, The J.O.B.’s Jim O’Ferrell and Jason Crawford are at the center of generating heat in their original compositions for the band. THE J.O.B’s sound screams potential and as a band they’re all about harnessing it.
